The Weekend

261. Weekends are challenging. I must be moderate. I have been completely open and honest about my weight in this most public of forums. And I'm only slightly embarrassed about it. Also, I have completely disclosed 75% of what I've drunk and most of what I've eaten. But I can't bring myself to describe fully (in terms of speed and duration) the waddling movement I refer to as "running". I will at some point, when it is faster and longer. For now I will disclose my morning "fitness blasts", typically 20 minutes or so of exercises emphasizing joint mobility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness. I use a stretchy band, a kettlebell, my own bodyweight (see the first entry of every posting on this blog), and a cruel little timer that I program to beep to let me know that one interval is over and it is time to move on to the next one. A typical workout starts with a 10 minute warm-up. On 30 second intervals, I alternate stretchy band joint mobility movements with bodyweight stuff (push-ups and planks). After 3 minutes, I take a 30 second break. I repeat that twice. That's 10minutes. Then the main course: 10 minutes of Kettlebell stuff, typically. This morning, I'll do something called the Turkish Get-Up. I do 1 on each side, and I add a Windmill at the top. Then I rest for a minute, then repeat 4 times. That's 10 minutes. Take a look here.
